What happens when my child finishes school?

The Alabama Department of Mental Health offers help and assistance for persons with an intellectual disability.  An intellectual disability is a person whose IQ score is 70 or below. 

 It is never too early or too late to think about the future if you should have a child 14 years or older who may need adult services following their school years.  Right now, there is a waiting list for those services from the Alabama Department of Mental Health.  If your child meets the criteria listed above you may wish to call the following number:
