The
FOCUS Program is based on
a youth-led approach, which emphasizes partnerships between Alabama
Department of Public Health, community groups, and schools.
The program seeks to:
- promote youth involvement in the community planning process;
- provide abstinence-based peer education programs for the prevention
of the youth risk behaviors identified by the CDC;
- promote peer-led prevention activities and awareness events;
- and assist with training for this youth led initiative.
