Shadowland by Meg Cabot |
| Suze is a mediator -- she
helps ghosts with unfinished business so they can travel to the
other side. She's not too thrilled with this talent, which means she
is SO not enthused when her mother remarries and they move across
the country to live in a house and attend a school that are hundreds
of years old. However, not only does she encounter another mediator
(a priest, who disapproves of her sometimes kick-butt style of
mediating) but discovers that there is a "hottie" ghost residing her
bedroom. Jesse apparently is content to hang around the world of the
living, not really knowing what unfinished business he left behind. This book (first in a series of six) describes Suze's mediation of an unstable and violent ghost of a teenaged girl. While the book is enjoyable on its own, it is interesting to see her relationships with her stepbrothers and Jesse develop throughout the series.
