Early-in-the-year
Data Meeting
(Each teacher completed the classroom item analysis
sheet for the Harcourt Beginning of Year Benchmark Assessment. I then
plugged in the numbers to a grade level item analysis sheet. Both
analysis sheets can be found on the Harcourt Resources webpages on
this site.)

format
(Note: These forms help the teacher analyze percentile rankings. The
"dropped", "same", and "increased" columns
refer to percentile rankings. Did the student drop in percentile
ranking from Fall WCPM to Winter WCPM? Note that the WCPM score
itself may have increased, but the percentile ranking could have gone
down!)

Steps Commitment
(I pass these out at the end of the data meeting and
have teachers commit to implementing two or three ideas. These become
the focus for our follow-up walkthrough.)
Monthly Data Report
(During the first full week of each month, teachers
progress monitor all students with DIBELS progress monitoring. The
teachers write each student's score on their previous report and turn
it in to me. I have a file on my computer of each teacher's monthly
report and each month, I add their first of the month scores to the
report and save the updated copy. I print out 3 color copies of the
report (one for the teacher, one for me, and one for the principal).
I quickly calculate the percentage of their class at benchmark, strategic,
and intensive and do the same for the grade level. The cover report
helps the teachers see where they are as a grade level and where they
are as individual classrooms within that grade level.)
