1. Be Drug Free |
| Programs and lessons are presented throughout the
year that address the issue of making safe and healthy choices.
In October, we celebrate "Red Ribbon Week." Teachers, parents,
students and community members participate in a variety of
activities designed to promote a healthy drug free life style. |

2. Be a Good Character |
| Character education promotes a positive environment
in the school and helps prepare our students to achieve their
goals and face the challenges they will experience in life.
At our school we strive to help students achieve academic
success and develop good character. |

3. Be the Best that You Can Be |

Our counseling program
is implemented through three major areas:
|
- Classroom Guidance
- Small Group Counseling
- Individual Counseling
|
| Classroom Guidance lessons emphasize decision making,
self-understanding, conflict resolution, career exploration,
and the improvement of study and test taking skills. |
| Small Group and Individual Counseling are provided
for students expressing difficulites dealing with relationships,
personal concerns, or normal developmental tasks. Personal
counseling assists students in identifying problems, causes,
alternatives, and possible consequences so that the appropriate
action can be taken. The following small groups are offered
throught the year: |
- Grade Grabbers - Academics
and Study Skills
- Easy Does It - Aggressive
Behavior
- A Missing Piece - Death/Dying
- Attitude Adjusters - Rules/Authority
- The Right Stuff - Self-Esteem
- Banana Splits - Divorce
- School's Cool - Adjustment
