Monday

-Discuss the Word of the Week:  Patience

-Brainstorm ideas about the word.

-Write the ideas in the Changing Lives activity book.

-Get this lesson plan signed by your parent/guardian.

-Write down all assignments in planner, even if they are completed.

-Get your planner signed by your parent/guardian every night.

-Write in the Daily Writing Composition book:  New Student

-Discuss how you would describe an image such as that on page 225. 

-Identify adjectives and the nouns they describe on pages 226-227.

-Study Capitalization for the second mastery test on Wednesday. 

-Play the grammar game in the computer lab.

-Type some of your essays or paragraphs in the computer lab.

-Practice manuscript and cursive handwriting.

-Participate in the Book It Program.

-Listen to our school’s guest speaker, former NASA Astronaut, Col. (Ret.) Jim Voss.

-Introduce one-digit division by doing practice problems and completing worksheets 3 and 5 from Teacher’s Helper.

-Work on Accelerated Math.  You need to pass 20 Accelerated Math objectives before December 17th.

-Practice your timetables.

-When you go to the computer lab or Mission Control, try visiting some of the following approved sites:

-Work on your individual Math Online Intervention and Take it to the Net website:  http://www.SFSuccessnet.com

-Practice a variety of skills:

-Watch the video, Earth’s Waters, and take notes to be turned in for a science grade.

-Select and research an animal or item that can be found at one of the levels of the ocean.  Neatly write a paragraph about it on an index card.  Using butcher paper, create your ocean object for the hall display.  Share your work with the teacher and the class.

Tuesday

-Write a rough draft for the Word of the Week in the Changing Lives activity book.

-Write down all assignments in planner, even if they are completed.

-Get your planner signed by your parent/guardian every night.

-Write in the Daily Writing Composition book:  I’m Falling

-Identify the correct forms of adjectives that compare on pages 228-229.

-Study Capitalization for the second mastery test on Wednesday.

-Review one-digit division and continue working with practice problems. 

-Work in groups of two and complete worksheet 7 on division.

-Work on Accelerated Math.  You need to pass 20 Accelerated Math objectives before December 17th.

-Study for the first mastery test about Order of Operations on Friday.

-Write the correct forms of adjectives that compare on pages 230-231.

-Demonstrate knowledge of Capitalization by taking the second mastery test.

-Practice manuscript and cursive handwriting.

-Participate in the Book It Program.

-Complete an overhead quiz on one-digit division and review mistakes. 

-Take notes on two-digit division and complete worksheet page 11.

-Work on Accelerated Math.  You need to pass 20 Accelerated Math objectives before December 17th.

-Practice your timetables.

-Study for the first mastery test about Order of Operations on Friday.

-Play the Order of Operations game from Worksheet Magazine Nov./Dec./Jan. 1991-92 pages 23-25.

-Discuss water ecology.

-Proofread your Word of the Week writing to make it flawless.

-Write in the Daily Writing Composition book:  With Minutes to Go

-Select the correct forms of good and bad in sentences on pages 232-233.

-Practice manuscript and cursive handwriting.

-Participate in the Book It Program.

-Review two-digit division and practice several problems. 

-Review for Friday’s test on one and two-digit division.

-Complete worksheet page 13.

-Work on Accelerated Math.  You need to pass 20 Accelerated Math objectives before December 17th.

-Practice your timetables.

-Study for the first mastery test about Order of Operations on Friday.

-Using a calculator, correctly calculate equations using the order of operations.

-Discuss water ecology.

-Complete pages 108-109 using the book.

-Select and research an animal or item that can be found at one of the levels of the ocean.  Neatly write a paragraph about it on an index card.  Using butcher paper, create your ocean object for the hall display.  Share your work with the teacher and the class.

Friday

-Publish your final copy in the Changing Lives activity book.

(Activities from Changing Lives are given grades in Language as “Other Averages.”)

-Write down all assignments in planner, even if they are completed.

-Get your planner signed by your parent/guardian every night.

-Write in the Daily Writing Composition book:  Holiday Season

-Select the correct articles in sentences on pages 234-235.

-Write a 5-paragraph essay using the prompt the teacher provides.  Favorite Subject (expository)

--Practice manuscript and cursive handwriting.

-Participate in the Book It Program.

-Demonstrate knowledge of one and two-digit division by taking a test.  (Mastery tests on Division by 2 Digit Numbers and Solving Division Problems using Compatible Numbers will be next week.)

-Demonstrate knowledge of Order of Operations by taking the second Mastery Test.

-Review Solving Equations using worksheet page 10.

-Work on Accelerated Math.  You need to pass 20 Accelerated Math objectives before December 17th.

-Practice your timetables.

-Discuss factoring, LCM, GCF, improper fractions, mixed numbers and simplify fractions using GCF.
