Hi, my name is Matthew, and I am 16 years old. It is the year two thousand fifty, and the world is becoming an atrocious place to live. People have depleted our most common energy source, fossil fuels. We now must totally depend on energy sources that used to be considered alternative energy sources but now they are all we have to rely on.
Our story starts out when I am visiting my grandmother’s house. My grandmother and I were watching a movie and eating popcorn when, suddenly, the electricity went out. Well, my grandmother said, “This kind of thing happens all of the time so we should just wait for it to turn back on.”
So we waited, and waited, and waited but nothing happened
Finally it was 6’oclock and nothing had happened yet, and I had to go home. I said good-bye and and drove home. When I was driving home I noticed something, no one had electricity! So I went home, and my electricity was out! So I thought, “ This all has to do with the Bluesville power company.” So I left my parents a note and left to go to the power company.
When I got there, the people that worked there were all there. I thought, “ something is not right here, they should be running the generators.” The lady noticed me standing at the door and let me in. “Yes, may I help you?”
“Yes,” I said, “ I would like to know why there is no electricity in the town.”
“Ah,” she said, “ You are the fifth one today.”
I said, “Well, why is there no power?”
She said, “Oh the generators and solar panels are both busted.”
“WHAT!” I screamed!
“Yes, and we won’t be getting them back for some time. Unless someone has an alternative energy source.”
“Well, I have been working on one for a long time. I will go finish it and have it back here by next week.”
“Wow, if it works we will give you ten-thousand dollars!”
“ Okay, that is a reasonable price for my invention.” After I said that, I left.
When I was driving home I thought, “ This is not going to be easy finishing my invention.” I still have a lot of work to do on it. And in a week. Wow this is not going to be easy.
So when I got home, I started to work. My invention started to take shape. It looked better and better by the day. By the day before I was supposed to turn it in I was getting really exited. So I thought,” What will I call it?” Finally I decided, I would call it the Neutrino 9000. It makes electricity from wind and water.
Finally the big day came. The day I was going to turn in my Neutrino 9000. So I got my trailer put my invention in the back of my truck and drove off.
When I got there I unloaded my invention and took it inside. Everyone loved it. We took it out back and hooked it up. It was allover the news, Matthew Ferry invented another source of electricity!
