Automotive Mechanic - Transportation

Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent.  Possesses basic working knowledge of automotive maintenance and preventive care.  Possesses a valid state driver’s license.  Demonstrates aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities; and such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board might find appropriate and acceptable.

Qualifications:
1. Must have High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Must have valid state driver’s CDL license with passenger endorsement with no prior convictions/violations.

Utility Worker – Transportation Terminal

Qualifications:
1.   Must have High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Must have valid state driver’s CDL license with passenger endorsement with no prior convictions/violations.
3.  Must have completed all state school bus training requirements and hold a valid Alabama State Department of Education School Bus Driver’s Certificate.
4.   Successfully completes and passes medical examination conducted by contracted Board physician.  Medical examination will include eyesight, hearing, cardiovascular system, manual dexterity, reflexes, and urinalysis, as well as condition of overall general health. 
5.  Must be insurable under the liability/comprehensive insurance carrier of the Board.  Must remain insurable throughout employment tenure.
6.    Strong working knowledge of data entry operations.
7.   Demonstrate aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities.
8.   Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Shop Assistant – Transportation Terminal

Qualifications:
1.  Must have High School Diploma or equivalent.
2.  Must have valid state driver’s license with no prior convictions/violations.
3.  Must pass all state school bus training requirements and be eligible for certification.
4.  Successfully completes and passes medical examination conducted by contracted Board physician.  Medical examination will include eyesight, hearing, cardiovascular system, manual dexterity, reflexes, and urinalysis, as well as condition of overall general health. 
5.  Must be insurable under the liability/comprehensive insurance carrier of the Board.  Must remain insurable throughout employment tenure.
6.   Must maintain a personal and job related driving record that meets the  insurance carrier’s criteria for liability coverage for the Phenix City Board of Education.
7.   Demonstrate basic mechanical aptitude to include knowledge of automobile/diesel repairs, tools and equipment.
8.    Demonstrate knowledge/experience with inventory accountability systems.
9.    Demonstrated knowledge of basic computer operations and automobile parts inventory.
10.  Must have good interpersonal skills.
11.  Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Qualifications: Must have High School Diploma or equivalent. Demonstrated knowledge of automotive/diesel maintenance and preventative care. Must hold a valid CDL, DOT Health Certificate or Alabama School Bus Certificate. Not less than 5 years successful experience in vehicle maintenance. Must obtain Alabama School Bus Mechanic Certification (wthin 6 months of hire). Must maintain personal and job related driving record that meets the insurance carrier criteria for liability insurance for the Phenix City Board of Eduction. Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsiblities. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Maintenance Equipment RepairmanAuxiliary Services Center

Qualifications: Possess a high school diploma, three years verified successful experience in the area of food service equipment repair, demonstrates skills/competency in the area of equipment repair, must possess valid state driver’s license and such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board might find appropriate and acceptable.
