This year, as part of our overall guidance theme of "Follow Your North Star!" the guidance counselor, in conjunction with each classroom teacher, has selected two students from each class to serve as Sherwood Naviguides.  We hope to make this an ongoing program for our school in the upcoming years.

Criterion used for choosing Naviguides include; B average or higher, good socialization skills, good behavior, and a conscientious worker.  These students will be trained to mentor, tutor, and mediate for other students in need of their services.  Statistics have shown that schools using peer mediators have far less incidents of violence.

Naviguides will also be used as ambassadors for Sherwood when representatives are needed for visitors touring the school's facilities, a friendly face for new students, and to represent our school in community events.

The Sherwood Naviguides meet each Friday afternoon at 2:00 pm for training and fellowship.
