GIRARD BAND STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN 2008 CHICK-FIL-A BOWL
AUBURN VS CLEMSON
About
20 South Girard band members participated in the 2008 Chick-fil-a
Bowl in the Georgia Dome in
Atlanta
on Dec. 31st. The members participated with the Chattahoochee Valley
All-Star Band, a youth community band in the valley.
The members
participated in a mass band performance at pregame and halftime of
the game with 10 other bands and in the parade held earlier that
day. The band was awarded a trophy for its outstanding parade
performance, as well as being invited to return to next year's game.
The band received
outstanding reviews and numerous amounts of positive feedback from
both Auburn and Clemson Band Directors. Most importantly, the
students from South Girard had an opportunity to interact with kids
from other areas.
The
Chattahoochee Valley All-Star band is under the direction of Mr.
Lorenzo Manuel, Band director at South Girard.
