Dr.Clairessa
M. Bender, Principal Dear Parents,
"What we desire our children to become, we
must endeavor to be before them." (Andrew Combe).
Andrew Combe's words provide a challenge to each of us as parents.
Our children learn so much from us in so many ways. As a parent,
we are the first teachers of our children. You are a part of a
very important partnership with your child's teachers at Westview
Elementary. As we prepare for this important year of growth,
learning, and academic development, let us continue to help one another.
If we work together, this can be an outstanding year for each of our
students and staff. If you have any questions
or concerns, please let me or someone from our staff know.
Parents, I hope to see you at PTA meetings, visiting and working with
your child's class, eating lunch with us, and just stopping by to see
the learning going on at Westview. Jean
Piaget said, "The principle goal of education is to create men who are
capable of doing new things, not simply of repeating what other
generations have done--men who are creative, inventive and discoverers."
The goal of the staff is to create men and women who are capable of
being successful and productive citizens in the years to come. By
your continuous efforts, it is our hope that education is at the
forefront of every child at Westview Elementary.
I am looking forward to a very successful and rewarding year for all
students and parents! Sincerely,
Dr.
Clairessa M. Bender Principal
