The Phenix City Schools Band Program offers a seamless progression of music education from 6th through 12th grade. Our curriculum builds technical mastery, self-discipline, and ensemble synergy across three campus levels.

Phenix City Intermediate School

Phenix City Intermediate School (PCIS) Band

Grades: 6th & 7th Grade
Director: Ric Browning
Focus: Instrumental Foundations & Ensemble Basics

The journey starts at PCIS! The 6th-grade band program introduces students to fundamental music literacy, posture, instrument care, and tone production. Through engaging rehearsals and seasonal showcases, our youngest musicians gain the confidence and core skills required for a lifetime of performance success.

South Girard School

South Girard School (SGS) Band

Grades: 8th Grade
Director: Jerrod Kimbro
Focus: Technique, Pep Performance & Advanced Ensembles

Building on foundational skills, the South Girard School Band deepens technical proficiency and group dynamics. Students participate in Concert Band, Pep Band, and regional honor band opportunities, preparing them physically and musically for the demands of high-school-level performances, parades, and athletic games.

Central High School

Central High School Band — The Red Devil Regiment

Grades: 9th – 12th Grade
Director of Bands: Calvin Scott
Focus: Marching Band, Symphonic Ensembles & Competitive Performance

The flagship ensemble of Phenix City Schools! The Red Devil Regiment brings together members of the Symphonic Band, Concert Band, Percussion Class, and Visual Ensemble (Color Guard/Majorettes). Known for high-energy halftime shows, competitive excellence, and community pride, the Red Devil Regiment develops well-rounded performers equipped for collegiate music and leadership roles.
