"Central High School Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (NJROTC) Program gives students an opportunity to participate in a 4-year curriculum of study.  The purpose is to instill in students the value of citizenship, service to the United States, personal responsibility, and a sense of accomplishment.  The students will be introduced to the origins and history of the NJROTC Program, military drill, military uniforms and grooming, and physical fitness.  Advance courses will cover the areas of naval history, naval sciences, shipboard life, and leadership skills.  Students will have the opportunity to participate in various activities designed to enhance their leadership skills and teamwork.  They will also receive scholarship opportunities and information about the military as a possible career."
