Getting Started is Easy
Enrolling your student is simple and can be done online.

Complete Residency Verification
- Begin the process by filling out residency verification forms with the required documents.

- Navigate to the new or returning student enrollment page to begin filling out the enrollment form.

- Submit documents such as proof of residency, birth certificate, and immunization records.

What Counts as Proof of Residency?
Primary Documents:
- Current Lease/Rental Receipt with Parent or Guardian's Name
- Current Mortgage, Mortgage Statement, or Warranty Deed in the parent or guardian's name
Secondary Documents:
- Recent electricity bill (must be within the last 30 days)
- Government-issued correspondence (e.g., social security or tax documents)
* Gas, water, cable/internet, and/or cell phone bills will not be accepted as proof of residency.
Photo IDs:
- A valid government-issued photo ID of the parent or guardian
- Expired Identification documents will not be accepted
Registration Checklist: What You’ll Need
Before you begin the online application in PowerSchool, please have digital copies (scans or clear photos) of the following documents ready to upload:
- Proof of Age: Student’s official Birth Certificate.
- Immunization: Current Alabama Blue Form (Immunization Record).
- Parent Identity: Valid Photo ID of the parent/legal guardian.
- Residency: Two (2) current proofs of residency (e.g., a mortgage statement/lease agreement AND a current utility bill).
- Proof of Guardianship: The Phenix City School System accepts only legal guardianship/custody documents as authorized by a court of law. Notarized affidavits, educational guardianship records, or other types of statements are not acceptable as proof of guardianship/custody.
- Previous Records: Withdrawal form from the previous school (if applicable).
Important Deadlines
To ensure we have a bus route ready for your student, please complete your enrollment by July 14, 2026. Registrations submitted after this date may experience a delay in transportation services for the first two weeks of school.

Transportation Notice
Phenix City Schools provides transportation to and from home addresses only.
Route change requests are to be completed for valid change of residence (new proof of residency) or to the following pre-approved after-school programs:
- Roy Martin Center
- 5th Street South Youth Center
- Chuck Roberts Center
- Doris Weaver Girls Club
Request for after-school programs may be approved pending available space on the bus. It is the parents' responsibility to ensure the program has space available before submitting any request for transportation. The driver will assign seats as they deem necessary. Seat assignments are a positive way for the ride to be safe and consistent.
Returning students who need to change their residence have until July 14th to make any changes. After that date, transportation may not be provided until 2 weeks after the start of school. Any change of home address will need to include updated proof of residency.
