Phenix City Elementary: A United Way Community School

Phenix City Schools is proud to partner with United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley to support Phenix City Elementary School as an official Community School.

This transformative initiative brings together families, educators, community organizations, and local leaders to support the whole child—academically, socially, and emotionally. As a Community School, Phenix City Elementary serves as a hub for vital resources and programs that directly benefit our scholars and their families.

Through this partnership, Phenix City Elementary is able to offer:

  • Expanded learning opportunities
  • Family and community engagement
  • Health and social services access
  • Strong school-community partnerships
  • Support for student attendance, behavior, and achievement

At the heart of this initiative is our Community School Coordinator, who works full-time to connect students and families with resources, develop meaningful programs, and strengthen relationships between the school and community partners.

Together, we are committed to building stronger outcomes for our children and ensuring every student at Phenix City Elementary has the tools they need to succeed—both inside and outside the classroom.

United Way Campaign

United Way impacts 1 in every 3 people in the Chattahoochee Valley through our internal programming our through our funded partners. East Alabama is impacted by over 31 United Way programs. 62% of our Total Annual Budget goes to Supporting Services and Community Investment, and our annual campaign makes up 56% of that budget. We fund, on average, 20-30% of our 23 funded partners' operating budgets. Our annual campaign averages around $7 million in local donations, all of which is allocated out locally to our funded partners; it’s community raised and community allocated. Every dollar makes a difference. Please visit https://unitedcv.org/donate/ and consider supporting our annual campaign.
