On February 10, 2024, Central High School became the epicenter of innovation and teamwork as it hosted an unforgettable VEX Robotics competition. The event was a vibrant display of ingenuity, strategy, and technical skill, culminating in a series of awards that celebrated the hard work and dedication of the participating teams. LAMP High School, from Montgomery Alabama, cinched the Design Award with their innovative approach and creative problem-solving skills. Their robot showcased not just technical proficiency but also a keen eye for efficiency and aesthetics, setting a high standard for future competitions.

Central High School's own “Pretty in Pink” team was the epitome of skill and excellence, dominating the competition with their remarkable performance. They not only secured the Skills Champion Award, demonstrating unparalleled prowess in robot control and strategy, but also went on to clinch the coveted Excellence Award. This double achievement highlights their comprehensive understanding of robotics, teamwork, and strategic planning.

The tournament saw fierce competition, with teams vying for the top spot in a display of technical skill and collaborative effort. Emerging as the Tournament Champions were “K.C. And the Sunshine Band” from Central High School, in collaboration with South Girard Jr. High. This victory was a testament to the power of teamwork and the synergistic potential of young minds working together towards a common goal.
