Central High School Class of 2024 Celebrates Graduation at Columbus Civic Center

This past Sunday, Central High School proudly celebrated the graduation of the Class of 2024 at the Columbus Civic Center. The ceremony marked the culmination of years of hard work, dedication, and achievement for our students as they embark on the next chapter of their lives.

Valedictorian Silvia Aguilar-Paiz delivered a heartfelt speech in both English and Spanish to honor her family, adding a personal and inclusive touch to the ceremony. Mia Bell, the salutatorian, inspired her peers by speaking on the importance of going into the world with kindness, love, and compassion. Class President Kyrie Tate and graduating senior Eric Wilson, who gave the invocation, also contributed to the memorable event.

A remarkable 71% of our graduates are enrolled in colleges and universities, preparing to further their education and pursue their academic dreams. Another 12% have chosen to serve their country by enlisting in the military, while 17% are set to begin their careers or apprenticeships, contributing their skills and talents to the workforce. These diverse paths highlight the success of our E3 initiative: Enrolled, Enlisted, Employed, demonstrating the many avenues of success available to our students after graduation.

The Class of 2024's achievements extend beyond their post-graduation plans. Collectively, our graduates have been awarded an astounding $23,132,000.00 in scholarships. This impressive figure reflects their academic, arts, and athletics excellence, showcasing their potential and hard work.
