Phenix City schools will delay the start of school by two hours due to the likelihood of severe weather early tomorrow, Wednesday, January 25, 2023 (i.e. If the regular bus pick-up is at 7:05 AM, expect the bus to pick up at 9:05 a.m. If school begins at 8 a.m., then the school will start at 10 a.m. Teachers who report daily at 7:30 a.m. will report at 9:30 a.m).

Russell County Emergency Management Agency predicts wind gusts will reach up to 40 mph between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m. Wind gusts reaching 40 mph or more poses a significant danger to buses. Russell County EMA determined Phenix City is at a marginal risk for damaging winds and possible tornadoes.

Breakfast and lunch will be served as usual. Bus pick-ups could be delayed more than two hours based on road conditions. All employees who typically report to work after 10:00 AM will report at the normal time.

Schools will dismiss at normal times.
