Phenix City Board of Education Announces Superintendent Candidates for Interview

Board members selected four candidates to interview for the vacant superintendent position at their March 17, 2023, regularly scheduled board meeting

 

Phenix City, Ala.— The Phenix City Board of Education released its list of four candidates for the available superintendent position of Phenix City Schools. The board voted to hold public interviews with the top candidates from April 10-13, 2023 during a called meeting earlier this week. 

 

PCBOE has selected the following candidates:

  • Dr. Elgin Dixon of Dublin, Georgia. Dr. Dixon is a retired superintendent of Twiggs County Board of Education in Jefferson, Georgia.

  • Dr. Don McPherson of Cullman, Alabama. Dr. McPherson currently works as a consultant for Walker County Board of Education in Alabama. He previously served as superintendent of the Coffee County Board of Education.

  • Dr. Janet Sherrod of Northport, Alabama. Dr. Sherrod currently serves as the Executive Director of Learning Supports for the Tuscaloosa City Board of Education.

  • Nathan Walters of Phenix City, Alabama. Mr. Walters currently serves as the Director of Operations for the Phenix City Board of Education.
