Mrs. Lakesha Threats

It is my pleasure to welcome you to Meadowlane Elementary School, home of the mighty wildcats, where everybody is somebody, failure is not an option and our school motto is “Super, Great, Getting Better Everyday!

To those students and parents new to our school WELCOME! I am honored to be the principal at Meadowlane and I enjoy working with amazing students, families, and a wonderful group of dedicated professionals. Our priority is to provide a high-quality education for every student, every day. At Meadowlane our vision statement is, “Committed to Excellence Everyday…. All Day. This year will be filled with high expectations for learning and growing academically, socially and emotionally. We anticipate an awesome year as we continue to be wild about learning and roaring with each success!

In partnership with all Phenix City Public Schools and PCS District Strategic Plan (www.pcboe.net ), MES will ensure all students receive a high quality instruction aligned with ALCOS, College and Career Readiness Standards and Common Core Standards. At MES teaching and assessing is standards-based instruction, that is data-driven, and collaborative. Academic rigor is at the heart of improving our scholars’ learning. We believe MES scholars will learn best when they are actively involved in their own learning and they have opportunities to manipulate their environment, explore and be challenged with instruction that is rigorous, relative and connected to real world issues to enhance their academic success.

We believe that all of us, the school, families and the community must work together in an extended family environment to ensure success for all our scholars. We believe it is everyone's responsibility to empower our scholars for the challenges presented by our ever-changing world. We encourage you to become involved in all aspects of the academic program. Together As A Team We Can Achieve More!

It is truly a privilege to be a part of a Community where parents, teachers and students care for each other and strive to build positive relationships that support academic and social growth. I looking forward to working with each of you this school year! I can be reached at 334-298-2568 or lthreats@pcboe.net if you have any questions or concerns.
