Meet our Administration

Mrs. Lanette Holmes

Greetings Explorer Families,

It is my privilege to begin my eighth year as the principal of Lakewood Elementary School. I am incredibly honored to love, learn, and LEAD alongside Mrs. Thomas at LES. We are extremely fortunate to serve such a supportive community of dedicated teachers, involved parents, and diverse learners.

During my 24 years as an educator, I have served Phenix City students in a variety of schools and roles. I have taught sixth, fourth and second grade and served as a district instructional coach. I received my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Troy University and I obtained a master’s degree in Instructional Leadership & Administration from Troy University and a 6-year Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Auburn University (War Eagle!). My husband, Scott and I have 2 children, Presley and Steele as well as an Australian Shepherd named Sully. Outside of school, I enjoy attending live sports especially those involving the Auburn Tigers, traveling, and spending time with my family.

I believe that every child deserves the opportunity to love, learn, and LEAD. I strive to serve and work with my phenomenal teachers to offer a welcoming and safe environment where all students can learn and grow. I want all Explorers to LEAD the Way and I look forward to our journey together.

Explorers LEAD the Way,

Mrs. Holmes
